Terms of Service

Terms governing use of the QuickCategory API.

Last updated: April 2025

By creating an account or using the QuickCategory API you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

QuickCategory provides a geospatial data API (“the Service”). We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access the Service subject to these terms and your plan’s usage limits.

Acceptable use

You may use the Service to build applications and integrations. You must not:

  • Resell or redistribute raw API access as a standalone product
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or bulk-export entire datasets outside of normal API usage
  • Use the Service in a way that violates applicable law
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits or authentication

Usage limits

Each plan carries a monthly request limit. Exceeding the limit on a Free plan results in requests being blocked until the next cycle. On paid plans, we will contact you before blocking traffic.

Data attribution

Some datasets in the catalogue carry open-licence attribution requirements. When you display or publish results derived from those datasets, you must include the relevant attribution. Attribution requirements for each dataset are provided in the Data Attribution page and in the /v1/datasets API response.

Uptime & liability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee a specific uptime on Free or Pro plans. Enterprise plans may include a formal SLA agreed separately.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, QuickCategory is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. You may cancel your account at any time from your dashboard.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
